AI Traffic: How to Get More Visitors From AI Search

,

Why AI Traffic Could Become Important for Bloggers

The way people search for information online is changing.

For years, Google has been the main place people go when they want to find a website, product, service, answer or solution. That is still hugely important, but there is now another source of website traffic that bloggers and online business owners should be paying attention to.

That is AI search traffic.

People are increasingly using AI platforms such as ChatGPT, Google AI features, Perplexity and other AI-powered search tools to find information. Instead of typing a short keyword into Google and working through pages of results, they can ask an AI platform a complete question and receive an answer based on information found across the web.

Sometimes that answer can include links to websites. For bloggers, this creates another potential way of getting visitors.

What is AI search traffic?

AI search traffic is website traffic that comes from people discovering your content through AI-powered search platforms.

For example, someone might ask an AI platform:

“How do I start a blog?”

The AI may provide an answer and reference several websites that contain useful information. If your article is included and the person clicks through to your website, that visit becomes AI referral traffic.

This is different from traditional Google search traffic, although the two have similarities.

Traditional SEO focuses on getting your website visible in search engine results. AI SEO is increasingly about making your content useful, trustworthy and easy for AI systems to understand and reference.

This is why I think AI traffic is becoming an interesting subject for bloggers.

Why AI traffic could become important for bloggers

I’ve spent a lot of time working on SEO and building content around blogging and online business, and one thing I’ve learned is that search behaviour can change.

The websites that adapt to those changes can potentially benefit from new sources of visitors.

AI search is still developing, so I wouldn’t suggest abandoning Google SEO. In fact, I believe traditional SEO remains extremely important.

Instead, I see AI search traffic as another opportunity.

Your website already has articles, guides, reviews and helpful information. If those pages are well written and genuinely answer people’s questions, there is a possibility that AI search platforms may discover, understand and reference them.

That gives bloggers another reason to concentrate on creating useful content rather than simply writing articles designed to contain as many keywords as possible.

How to get AI traffic to your website

There isn’t a magic button that guarantees AI traffic.

You cannot simply publish an article and expect ChatGPT or another AI platform to send hundreds of visitors to it.

The process is much more natural than that.

Start by creating content that answers real questions.

Think about what someone would actually type into an AI search engine. These searches can be much more conversational than traditional Google searches.

For example:

“How can I get more visitors to my blog?”

“What are the best ways to promote a new website?”

“How do I improve SEO for my blog?”

“How can AI help me get more website traffic?”

These questions can become the basis for useful articles.

The goal is to provide a genuinely helpful answer rather than trying to manipulate the AI system.

Create content around specific questions

One approach I particularly like is creating articles around specific questions.

Instead of writing a very broad article about “website traffic”, you could create a detailed guide about how to increase website traffic with AI.

You could then create related articles about AI SEO, AI traffic generation, AI referral traffic and getting traffic from AI search engines.

This creates a natural content cluster.

For example, one article could explain AI search traffic, while another explains how to get traffic from ChatGPT.

You could then link those articles together.

This helps your readers discover more of your content and gives search engines a clearer understanding of what your website covers.

Focus on useful information, not keyword stuffing

This is important. When you discover a keyword with relatively low competition, it can be tempting to repeat it everywhere.

I don’t recommend doing that.

If your main keyword is AI search traffic, you don’t need to use that exact phrase in every paragraph.

Natural writing is more important.  You can naturally use related phrases such as:

AI traffic

AI website traffic

AI traffic generation

AI traffic generation tools

traffic from AI search engines

AI referral traffic

AI SEO traffic

how to get AI traffic

how to get traffic from ChatGPT

These phrases all relate to the same subject, but they represent slightly different searches and questions.

Using them naturally can help you cover the topic comprehensively without making the article sound like it was written for a search engine.

How to get traffic from ChatGPT

ChatGPT has become one of the best-known AI platforms, so naturally many website owners are asking how to get traffic from ChatGPT.

There isn’t a traditional ranking page in the same way there is with Google.

Instead, your website needs to have useful information that an AI system can potentially discover and reference.

This is another reason I believe publishing detailed, original content is important. If you have personal experience with a subject, explain it.

If you’ve tested a particular method, share what happened. If something didn’t work for you, say so.

That type of information can make an article much more useful than a generic piece of content that simply repeats information found elsewhere.

AI traffic generation is something to understand carefully

There is another meaning of the term AI traffic generation.

Some software and services claim to use artificial intelligence to generate website visitors. This is where you need to be careful. Not all traffic is equal.

Having thousands of visitors appear in your analytics doesn’t necessarily mean your website is becoming more successful.

You want visitors who are actually interested in your content.

For example, if you run a blog about SEO and blogging, genuine visitors interested in those subjects are much more valuable than automated visits that simply inflate your traffic figures.

Before using an AI traffic generation tool, I would always look at where the traffic comes from, how visitors behave and whether the traffic is genuinely useful.

Traffic numbers alone don’t tell the whole story.

AI SEO and traditional SEO can work together

I don’t see AI SEO as something that completely replaces traditional SEO.

Instead, I see them becoming increasingly connected. You still want your website to have good technical SEO.

You still want pages that can be crawled and indexed.

You still want strong titles, useful headings, internal links and well-written content.

You still want your website to provide a good experience for visitors.

At the same time, you can structure your content so that it clearly answers questions and provides useful information that AI systems can understand.

That means the work you’re already doing for traditional SEO can also help with your broader AI search strategy.

Track your AI referral traffic

If you’re serious about building traffic from AI search engines, you should also keep an eye on your analytics.

Look for visitors coming from AI platforms and referral sources.

Over time, you may start to see which articles are attracting visitors and which platforms are sending them.

This information can help you decide what type of content to create next.

For example, if you notice that one article is attracting visitors from AI search, you could create several related articles that answer other questions around the same subject.

You don’t need to guess everything. Your own website data can eventually tell you what is working.

Don’t forget about Google

While AI search is interesting, I wouldn’t make the mistake of ignoring Google.

Google still plays a huge role in sending visitors to websites. My approach is therefore quite simple.

Build a website for people first. Create useful content. Research relevant keywords. Optimise your pages properly.

Build internal links. Keep improving your content. Then make sure your articles answer the types of questions people are increasingly asking through AI.

That gives you the opportunity to benefit from both traditional search and emerging AI search traffic.

Final thoughts on AI search traffic

I think AI search traffic is an area worth watching if you’re a blogger, affiliate marketer or online business owner.

It is still developing, which means nobody can honestly guarantee exactly how much traffic AI platforms will send to an individual website.

However, search behaviour is changing, and AI is becoming an increasingly important part of how people discover information online.

For me, the answer isn’t to chase every new AI tool or jump onto every new trend.

It’s to keep doing the fundamentals properly. Create useful content.

Answer real questions. Write naturally.  Build authority around your subject.

Optimise your website for search. And keep an eye on where your visitors are coming from.

If AI search continues to grow, websites that already have a library of useful, well-structured content will be in a much better position to take advantage of it.

And that’s why I think AI traffic and AI search traffic deserve a place in the modern blogger’s SEO strategy.

Frequently asked questions

What is AI search traffic?

AI search traffic is visitors who discover a website through an AI-powered search or answer platform and then click through to that website.

How can I get AI traffic?

Create useful, original content that clearly answers questions people are searching for. Good SEO, strong content and clear website structure can all help your pages become discoverable.

Can ChatGPT send traffic to websites?

Yes, AI platforms can potentially send referral visitors to websites when users click links or sources provided in responses. The amount of traffic can vary considerably.

Is AI traffic better than Google traffic?

They are different sources of traffic, and neither should automatically be considered better. What matters is whether the visitors are genuinely interested in your content and take useful actions on your website.

Should bloggers focus on AI SEO?

AI SEO is worth paying attention to, but I wouldn’t ignore traditional SEO. A balanced approach that focuses on useful content, search visibility and a good user experience makes sense as search continues to evolve.

My Recommendation

If you’re building a blog or online business, I recommend paying attention to AI search traffic now rather than waiting until it becomes even more established.

I’m not suggesting you forget about Google or traditional SEO. In my experience, the best approach is to build a solid website, create genuinely useful content and optimise your articles properly while also understanding how AI search is changing the way people find information online.

AI traffic is still developing, so I wouldn’t rely on it as your only source of visitors. Instead, think of it as another potential traffic source that could become increasingly important.

For me, the opportunity is simple. Keep creating valuable content, keep working on SEO and make your website useful enough that both people and AI-powered search platforms can understand what you offer.
